Four cops
arrested Robber injured in PECHS shoot-out dies

KARACHI: The
robber, who had received bullet injuries in the encounter with
Ferozabad police at the house of a woman judge on Monday,
succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
Muhammad Hussain, 25, and his two accomplices Joshi and Zakir
had barged into Additional District and Sessions Judge,
Rashida Asad's house in PECHS, and made the inmates hostage.
Later, when they were fleeing while kidnapping the family in
the judge's car, police tried to intercept the vehicle near
Shahrah-e-Quaideen. During the shoot-out, two children Alizai
and Ozam were killed and Muhammad Hussain was wounded. Police
had taken him to the JPMC. He was on remand till March 27 but
could not be properly interrogated due to his injuries.
Police claimed that they had detained six people for
interrogation about the two dacoits who had escaped. The CIA
said on Wednesday that they suspended and arrested four
policemen, who were allegedly involved in the shoot-out. They
were identified as head constables Ghulam Mujtaba, Sheerat and
Liaquat and Constable Arif.
The CIA chief submitted a report with the DIG Karachi that HC
Mujtaba fire seven bullets, HCs Sheerat and Liaquat fired two
shots, while constable Arif fired four shots. The SDM
Ferozabad, Ali Sarfaraz Hussain, assigned by the government to
conduct judicial inquiry into the killing of the two children,
ordered the DSP Ferozabad to produce before him detailed
report of the incident, the list of all the policemen present
on the occasion and medical report on March 27.
The SDM also requested the area people, who witnessed the
encounter, to give their statement before him between 9:00 am
to 4:00 pm before that date. |
