KARACHI, March
19: Police shot two children to death on Monday when they
opened fire on a car in which three bandits attempted to flee
by holding a woman assistant sessions judge and her family
hostage.
Those killed were identified as five-year-old Aliza and two-
and-a-half-year-old Auzan. Both were the children of the
senior civil and assistant sessions judge, Rashida Asad, a
resident of PECHS.
Judge Rashida Asad also suffered a minor bullet wound.
The family claimed that the bandits had not fired at the
police who had opened fire without any justification.
However, the police claimed that they had opened fire in
"self-defence".
They also claimed to have arrested one of the bandits who had
suffered two bullet wounds. He was identified as Mohammad
Hussain. Two of his accomplices had escaped, the police added.
The district magistrate, East, ordered the sub-divisional
magistrate Ferozabad, Ali Sarfaraz, to conduct a judicial
inquiry into the incident and submit a report to him within 15
days.
The CIA SSP was also directed to conduct an inquiry into the
incident and submit his report on Tuesday. |
