How much does
it takes to destroy that was built with labor of love, woven
through the years, with delicate embroidery of every day gone
by, every moment that will remain unforgettable till eternity?
Nothing but just one devil of a moment that burns it all at
the wink of an eye.
Aliza and Uzaam, sister and brother, five years
and two and a half years old, were killed by Karachi Police
on the morning of March 19th, 2001. It took only one ignorable
moment and just one tiny little piece of fire riding metal to
end both of these lives that were not even fully started yet.
For all who know it as just another day's news, it is a sad of
course, but unfortunately a forgettable incident of passing
time. But for some, it is a life-altering incident that has
triggered the stream of tears that might disappear in time but
will never end. Some might say, what are two little children,
where every day brings news of so many such cases that one can
easily loose count. We argue, should we be so comfortable in
getting used to of such environment where a life only means a
number in the newspaper. Should we be ignorant of the fact
that there is a criminal involved in each and every such news,
which has assumed a power to commit these crimes at ultimate
convenience? So it is that it just might matter to those who
have experienced such tragedy, but aren't we, the experienced
ones having increased in number, enough to speak in audible
voice?
It is utterly unfortunate that it takes a whole lot of
convincing to have someone on these innocent victims side.
This site is an attempt to lay the foundations of such
platform where all of those who have experienced a tragedy of
Police Terrorism in Pakistan can put their stories for the
world to know. At the same time, all the others can come and
analyze these stories of horror and put their philosophies of
ignorance to test.
